Okay, fellow OG Harry Potter fans… the new trailer is here, and I have FEELINGS. 🥹⚡️
HBO just dropped a new trailer for Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone, and this one gives us a MUCH better look at Harry’s first year at Hogwarts — and honestly, it’s starting to feel real.
We get more from Harry, Ron and Hermione, plus plenty of familiar Hogwarts faces. And yes, we get some of those moments that longtime fans know by heart: Harry under the Sorting Hat, the Quidditch pitch, and, of course, Professor Snape making it very clear that Harry Potter is not his favorite student.
As an OG Harry Potter fan, seeing these scenes brought back to life is such a weird mix of nostalgia and excitement. We already know the story, we already know the characters, and we’ve seen the original movies a million times… but there’s something about getting to experience Hogwarts all over again that just hits differently.
And can we talk about the timing? Because Harry Potter and the “ber” months just GO together. September rolls around, the weather starts getting cooler, Halloween is around the corner, and suddenly all I want is a cozy blanket, a giant mug of something warm and a Harry Potter marathon. Give me Hogwarts in the fall and I am HAPPY.
One thing that immediately stood out about this trailer is how cinematic everything looks. The special effects and production quality feel much closer to the original Warner Bros. movies, rather than looking like a typical TV series. And thankfully, that muted, desaturated look from the first teaser seems to be gone — which is definitely something fans had been talking about.
HBO’s new description for the season says:
“There is nothing special about Harry Potter – or so his Aunt Petunia tells him. But when a mysterious letter of admission to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry arrives, it opens the door to a hidden world of magic, friendship and adventure. Yet behind Hogwarts’ enchanted walls lie dark secrets. Harry must find the courage to prove himself against the darkest wizard of all.”
I don’t know about you, but I’m officially ready to go back to Hogwarts. The books raised me, the movies became a huge part of my childhood, and now I’m apparently ready to do it all over again.
