Everybody’s favorite swamp-loving ogre is back!
The first teaser for Shrek 5 has officially arrived, and it looks like Shrek and Donkey are ready for another wild adventure. Universal Pictures dropped the first look on Tuesday, giving fans a peek at what’s next before the movie hits theaters in summer 2027.
The gang is back together, with Mike Myers returning as Shrek, Eddie Murphy as Donkey, and Cameron Diaz once again voicing Princess Fiona. But there’s also a new face joining the family. Zendaya is lending her voice to Shrek and Fiona’s teenage daughter, Felicia. Their twin sons, Fergus and Farkle, will be voiced by Marcello Hernández and Skyler Gisondo.
The film is directed by Walt Dohrn and Conrad Vernon, with Brad Ableson serving as co-director. The screenplay comes from Michael McCullers, while Christopher Meledandri and Gina Shay are producing.
It’s been more than 15 years since the last mainline Shrek movie, so it’s safe to say fans have been waiting a long time for another trip to Far Far Away. If the teaser is any indication, this next chapter will have plenty of laughs, heart, and, of course, Donkey’s nonstop chatter.
