SHOSHONE COUNTY, Idaho — A low magnitude earthquake hit north Idaho just north of Mullan on Monday night.
Around 10:30 p.m. on February 10, a 3.3 magnitude earthquake shook parts of North Idaho near the cities of Mullan and Wallace, according to the United States Geological Survey (USGS).
Earthquakes are measured on The Richter Scale, which evaluates the strength of the vibration’s released when the earth’s tectonic plates move.
The largest earthquake ever recorded was the 1960 9.5 magnitude earthquake off the coast of Southern Chile.
