SPOKANE, Wash. – Khalif Battle scored 24 points, including a McCarthey Athletic Center record 15-of-16 free throw attempts to help the Zags beat LMU, 73-53.
Braden Huff added 14 points for the Bulldogs while Ryan Nembhards 9 assists placed him at second in Gonzaga’s program history with 238 career assists.
Gonzaga’s offense fell short in the first half with just 27 points compared to LMU’s 24 in the first 20 minutes. The Bulldogs trailed by a point in the second half before going on a 28-5 scoring run.
The Zags also outscored the Lions 42-20 in the paint.
Up next, Gonzaga heads to California to take on Pacific at 5 p.m. this Saturday.
