SPOKANE VALLEY, Wash. — The Spokane County Medical Examiner has determined the man found dead in an apartment fire in Spokane Valley died of an overdose.

56-year-old Rob Johnson was found dead inside an apartment in a complex near Skipworth Road and Main Avenue January 22.
The fire started in a tree and spread to the building around 8 p.m.
Firefighters were able to put out the fire and found Johnson dead inside.
The Medical Examiner says Johnson died of a combination of fentanyl and methamphetamine coupled with heart disease.
Spokane Valley Fire says the cause of the fire is still under investigation.
