SPOKANE, Wash – If you wanted to play in the snow this January, you were better off in Pensacola, Florida than Spokane.
The National Weather Service says Spokane has received 6.3 inches of snow this month.
Compare that with 8.9 inches in Pensacola, 7.5 inches in Mobile, Alabama and 9 inches in Little Rock, Arkansas.
The National Weather Service says Spokane typically sees 9.8 inches of snow in January and nearly 24 inches by this time in the season.
Since December 1st, only 10.4 inches of snow has fallen in Spokane.
Those southern cities were hit with rare snowfall this month that covered the beach in Florida and iced up the streets in New Orleans.
Spokane could make up for the lack of snow, as the city typically sees 44 inches of snow per year.
