SPOKANE, Wash. — People gathered in Riverfront Park for the second annual Disability Pride Celebration on Saturday.
On July 27, Disability Action Center held the a multicultural celebration to showcase the strength of individuals living with disabilities.
Many attendees described the event as festive and said it created an opportunity to promote love within the community.
“It’s about brining that love together and having that pride. People say “pride” is overused, but I don’t think that it is when it comes to an event like this. We need that love. There’s so much separation. The disability community needs that because it will show back to everybody else,” said Aerius Franklin who attended the event.
