STEVENS COUNTY, Wash. — A man was arrested Sunday morning in Chewelah after leading deputies on two chases in Spokane County on Friday.
On January 3, 36-year-old Justin Van Slyke led Spokane County Sheriff’s Office deputies on two chases, during which he hit a patrol car and attempted to run over a deputy in Spokane Valley.
SCSO alerted Stevens County deputies that they believed Van Slyke was headed to Chewelah and possibly armed.
On January 5, Stevens County Sheriff’s Office learned Van Slyke was at a home in Chewelah.
Deputies blocked off streets nearby streets and surrounded the home. Initially, Van Slyke refused to come out of the home, but surrendered after a short time.
He was transferred back to Spokane County and booked into jail on several felony charges.
