SPOKANE, Wash. — Two people were killed in a crash on Highway 2 east of Airway Heights Wednesday morning.
According to Washington State Patrol, a tree on the side of the road fell onto the highway. Two people in a box truck hit the tree and went off the road. They both died at the scene.
WSP says the tree was on airport property before it fell.
Department of Transportation says the eastbound side of Highway 2 was fully blocked and the westbound side was partially blocked. Westbound and one eastbound lane were reopened around 11 a.m.
The road was fully reopened around 11:30.
