CASCADE VALLEY, Wash. — Fire officials and the Grant County Sheriff’s Office are investigating a house fire that killed a Moses Lake man.
According to the sheriff’s office, a neighbor called emergency services around 4 p.m. Friday after finding heat and smoke damage inside the home on Blue Goose Road Northeast and the man’s body on the floor.
The neighbor said the home’s garage had been open since Thursday which is what prompted them to check on the man.
Investigators believe a fire started in the airtight home and burned until it ran out of oxygen. The victim is believed to have “been overcome by smoke,” according to the sheriff’s office.
The investigation into the fire and death are still ongoing.
The name of the victim has not been released.
