As a mom of two little ones—a lively three-year-old boy and an adorable eight-month-old girl—finding time to prioritize my health and fitness has been a challenge. Before kids, I was dedicated to working out regularly and eating well, but as life got busier, I pushed those priorities aside.
Recently, I experienced a mindset shift that transformed my approach to self-care. I stopped viewing my health and fitness journey as an all-or-nothing endeavor and began setting realistic goals. Instead of aiming to work out five days a week for an hour, I now focus on working out three times a week for at least 20 minutes and eating clean about 70% of the time.
Embracing Flexibility
Finding time for self-care is all about flexibility. Some weeks are busier than others, and that’s okay! A quick 20-minute workout can be just as effective. Plus, I’ve started incorporating my kids into my routines—doing squats while holding my baby or turning playtime into mini workouts.
Giving Yourself Grace
The most important lesson I’ve learned is to give myself grace. As moms, we often prioritize everyone else’s needs over our own. Remember, taking care of yourself is essential for your well-being.
If you’re struggling to prioritize your health, start small and set achievable goals. Every little step counts. You’re doing an incredible job, so let’s support one another on this journey of motherhood and self-care! What are some ways you prioritize your health? Share your tips below!
