SPOKANE COUNTY, Wash. — Over the next few months, you might notice smoke in and around the Autumn Lane and Fairview Fire burn areas.
According to Spokane County Fire District 9, the Washington Department of Natural Resources has already issued numerous burn permits in the area for fuel reduction and cleanup.
You might notice smoke in these areas over the next few months as property owners continue cleaning up after this year’s fires.
Fire District 9 says if you see smoke and believe it may be an uncontrolled fire, do not hesitate to call 911. However, if you can safely take the time to decide whether it is just a controlled slash pile burn, you are encouraged to do so.
