POST FALLS SCHOOL DISTRICT LEVY
POST FALLS, Idaho – Post Falls voters are so far passing a school levy that would give a $6 million dollar boost to public schools.
The levy raises the property tax rate by $7 a year, going from $31 per $100,000 of assessed value to $38 per $100,000 of assessed value.
For a $550,000 home, that’s an increase of about $3 per month.
The district says the levy is critical to maintaining current programs and addressing rising costs.
The levy money would support several key areas, including sports and extracurricular activities, school resource officers, technical education programs, support staff and salaries. The district also plans to use levy dollars to replace two aging buses.
If the levy fails, the district plans to ask voters again in the spring. However, if voters reject the measure a second time, the district will face difficult decisions about which programs to cut.
