WHITMAN COUNTY, Wash. — Firefighters are battling the Long Hollow wildfire burning in Whitman County.
According to the Washington State Fire Marshal’s Office, the fire about 45 minutes west of Pullman.
The fire started from lightening Wednesday around 4 p.m.
Whitman County Emergency Management says the fire is estimated to be over 3,000 acres but evacuations have been lowered. People in the area should be aware of the fire (Level 1).
The Fire Marshal’s Office initially reported more severe evacuations but those were downgraded.
Firefighters says the Long Hollow Fire is burning grass and brush and threatening homes, crops, and rangeland.
