Okay, this is actually pretty wholesome.
Blink-182’s Tom DeLonge was at Petco Park Tuesday night cheering on his hometown San Diego Padres during their playoff game against the Milwaukee Brewers, and he ended up having a very emotional Millennial moment.
As the Padres headed into the eighth inning with the lead, the stadium played Blink-182’s iconic 1999 hit “All the Small Things.” More than 43,000 fans at Petco Park started singing along, and FOX cameras quickly found DeLonge in the crowd.
And yeah… he looked a little emotional.
DeLonge, who grew up in the San Diego area and has been a lifelong Padres fan, watched as an entire stadium sang one of the biggest songs he ever helped create. He eventually joined in, singing along and throwing up the rock horns while waving a yellow rally towel.
Honestly, can you blame him? Hearing thousands of people scream the words to a song you made when you were younger, while sitting at a playoff game for your hometown team, has to be a pretty surreal feeling.
And the moment came during a HUGE game for the Padres. San Diego beat the Brewers 4-3, keeping their postseason run alive.
So basically, Tom DeLonge got to watch his hometown team win while 43,000+ people sang Blink-182 back to him.
That’s a pretty good night.
