Justin Timberlake is taking a walk down memory lane, and apparently, he has some thoughts about his beatboxing era. 😂
A viral Instagram Reel from Hannah Young has fans revisiting a very specific part of JT’s career: the time when he apparently could not make it through a song without busting out some beatboxing.
“You don’t talk about Justin Timberlake beatboxing enough,” Young says in the video. “Because there was a moment in time where that man would be in the middle of a song and just boots and cats and boots and cats.”
And honestly… she has a point.
Young goes on to point out how nobody seemed to question the fact that Timberlake was making drum noises with his mouth despite being in an actual professional recording studio.
“Nobody said, ‘Justin, you know? We have drums. This is a professional recording studio. There are instruments available to you,’” she joked.
But perhaps the funniest part is that we all apparently just accepted it. Young says fans were watching him beatbox and thinking, “Oh my God, what can’t he do?”
Well, Justin himself has now entered the chat.
Timberlake jumped into the comments with a hilarious apology for his past beatboxing choices.
“I often look back on that time as well,” he wrote. “I still haven’t come up with any answers.”
He continued, “I don’t know how to apologize enough for whatever those ambitions were. Too many boots. Too many cats.”
😂 Honestly, self-awareness is everything.
And just when you think JT is ready to leave the beatboxing behind, he added one important disclaimer: “I can’t promise I won’t do it again.”
So there you have it. The “boots and cats” era may not be over after all.

And if Justin Timberlake starts beatboxing again, at least now we know he’s doing it with full awareness of the consequences.
