SPOKANE, Wash. — With school back in session, the city of Spokane is reminding drivers to slow down in school zones and look for construction projects near local schools.
Construction on Stevens Street between 3rd and 8th Avenue is causing lane closures near Lewis and Clark High School.
Near Logan Elementary, lane closures began Tuesday on Hamilton Street between Boone and Carlisle.
Closures also began near Grant Elementary on Perry Street Wednesday between 10th and 18th Avenues.
Starting Thursday, Rowan Avenue will be closed between Ash and Maple Streets near Ridgeview Elementary school.
The city wants to remind everyone to plan ahead, slow down in school zones and watch for people crossing the street.
