SPOKANE, Wash. — The Historic Davenport Hotel is marking a significant milestone as it celebrates 110 years of service alongside a grand opening this weekend. After months of renovations, the hotel’s lobby is now complete and features a brand-new coffee shop and bar.
“It feels like it was always supposed to be here. The materials, the colors, it just feels like it fits here,” said Melissa Green, Vice President and Managing Director of The Davenport Collection.
The new lobby bar is designed as a welcoming space for guests to share conversations, sip cocktails, and enjoy appetizers—a vision inspired by Louis Davenport himself from a century ago.
“In the lobby bar, we had the thought of building it to look like it’s been here since 1914. For the menu, we looked at items that would have been on the menu back then,” explained Patrick Dahms, Director of Culinary for The Davenport Collection.
During the day, another new space, the Emporium, will offer coffee and an array of peanut brittle treats.
“Our team will be here throughout the week to do a live demo of making the peanut brittle. We’ll incorporate their brittle into our espresso martinis, you can get a peanut brittle latte, so we’ve integrated it everywhere,” said Alicia Armour, Executive Pastry Chef.
Walking through the lobby, it’s difficult to distinguish old from new. The renovations blend seamlessly with the historic charm that defines the Davenport Hotel.
“I think they are absolutely beautiful. Some individuals from the community have already come in and said they look phenomenal. It turned out absolutely better than anyone could have ever imagined,” Green added.
The public is invited to explore the lobby bar and Emporium during the grand opening event tomorrow at 5 PM. For more details, visit the Davenport website here.
