This weekend was Disney’s D23 fan convention in Anaheim, California. It’s basically Comic-Con for Disney fans.
Here’s a round-up of some of the biggest movie and TV announcements made:
1. “Avengers: Doomsday”: Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, and Hayley Atwell shared a new teaser. If you watch closely, you’ll see a blue-eyed Doctor Doom, which is causing a stir among fans. There was also a clip of Hugh Jackman asking for a role in the movie . . . further teasing a Deadpool and Wolverine appearance.
2. “X-Men” reboot casting: Adam Driver will play Mister Sinister, Chris Abbott will be Charles Xavier, and “Obsession” star Inde Navarrette will be Rogue.
3. “Frozen 3”:Kristen Bell and Idina Menzel took the stage and performed a new song. Josh Gad also performed a new song and teased a girlfriend for Olaf. An exclusive teaser was also shared.
4.. “Coco 2”: It’ll come out November of 2029. Miguel is now a teenager with a new haircut.
5. “Zootopia 3”: It’s officially in the works, but there’s no release date. A teaser was shared introducing a bird character.
6. “Star Wars: Starfighter”: Ryan Gosling stopped by with director Shawn Levy and shared more details. He plays a pilot, and it’s set in a brand new galaxy.
7. “Lilo & Stitch 2”: It’s set to come out May 28th of 2028. It’ll introduce Stitch’s love interest, Angel.
8. “Romy & Michele 2”: Lisa Kudrow and Mira Sorvino hit the stage to share what their characters have been up to.
9. “Oswald”: Jon Favreau introduced a three-part mini-series about Oswald the Lucky Rabbit for Disney+. It’ll premiere sometime in February.
10. “Tangled”: A first look at the live action film was shared with the audience. Kathryn Hahn took the stage and thanked the public for their fan-casting as Mother Gothel. The movie will hit theaters March 31st of 2028.
11. “The Bluey Movie”: A teaser trailer was shared showing a new CG animation style for the characters. It’ll hit theaters August 6th of next year.
12. “Incredibles 3”: It’ll focus on the two oldest kids, Violet and Dash. It hits theaters June 16th of 2028.
13. “Kingdom Hearts”: An anime series is in the works based on the video game franchise.
