REDMOND, WA — According to a press release from Let’s Go Washington (LGW), a conservative political action committee, Washington voters will decide on Initiative 645 this November after the Secretary of State certified the income tax repeal measure for the ballot Wednesday.
The initiative cleared signature verification with an 82.3% validity rate, exceeding the legal threshold required for certification, LGW said. Let’s Go Washington gathered hundreds of thousands of signatures to place the measure before voters.
“Today’s verification proves that Washingtonians will have their voice heard this November,” said Brian Heywood, founder and funder of Let’s Go Washington.
The press release also cited a May Cygnal poll that found 57% of Washington voters opposed the income tax.
“We’re grateful for the dedication of the Secretary of State’s Office to ensure that the hundreds of thousands of signatures gathered are validly counted,” Let’s Go Washington founder Brian Heywood said in the press release.
