If you’re anything like me, you’ve probably spent more than a few nights glued to your screen, completely captivated by shows that make you question everything about humanity. Right now, I’m absolutely hooked on Tell Me Lies, Worst Ex Ever, and Worst Roommate Ever, and I’m here to spill why these shows are my latest obsessions.
Tell Me Lies (Hulu) – Toxic, Messy, and Addictive
Let me start with Tell Me Lies, which is easily one of the most chaotic and toxic shows I’ve watched in a while. If you’re looking for a show with lovable characters or a “good guy” to root for, this is not it. Instead, you’ll find yourself caught up in a world of toxic relationships, deceit, and emotional manipulation that’s honestly kind of exhausting—but in a good way, of course!
The wildest part? You won’t really like anyone. Each character has their own set of lies, selfish motives, and poor decision-making skills. Yet, I can’t look away. There’s just something about the endless drama that keeps me coming back for more. You’ll hate characters, and hate yourself for still being invested, but that’s the beauty of it. It’s like watching a car crash—horrible, but you can’t stop staring.
Worst Ex Ever (Netflix) – Docuseries Shock and Awe
Now, if you’re in the mood for some real-life jaw-dropping moments, Worst Ex Ever has been an absolute rollercoaster. This docuseries pulls you into the wildest ex-relationship stories you’ve ever heard. Every episode leaves me with my mouth hanging open, genuinely shocked that these kinds of people exist—and somehow, keep finding new ways to torment their former partners.
Each story is told so well, with just enough tension and drama to make you question how these situations even happened. Honestly, it’s hard to believe that there are this many unhinged individuals out there. But once you start an episode, you’re in it for the ride, edge of your seat and all. It’s the kind of show that makes you appreciate your own life, no matter how crazy it might get. You’ll feel so much better knowing that at least you’re not dating (or have dated) anyone like these nightmare exes.
Worst Roommate Ever (Netflix) – Stranger Danger, Amplified
Last but definitely not least, Worst Roommate Ever is yet another documentary series that has me questioning how on earth these people even exist. If you’ve ever had a roommate, good or bad, this show will have you counting your blessings. From manipulative sociopaths to cold-blooded criminals, this show introduces us to the most terrifying people you could imagine living with.
I’m not exaggerating when I say my jaw is on the floor after almost every episode. Each story is told in a way that keeps you hooked—part disbelief, part horror, and a whole lot of suspense. You’ll never look at Craigslist ads or roommate meet-ups the same way again. These stories make you want to change all your locks, double-check everyone’s background, and never share a living space with a stranger ever again.
Why These Shows Are My Current Fixation
What I love most about these three shows—besides the sheer chaos of it all—is that they keep me entertained from start to finish. Whether it’s the fictionally messy relationships in Tell Me Lies or the real-life horror stories of Worst Ex Ever and Worst Roommate Ever, they all manage to tap into that part of me that loves suspense, drama, and just a bit of crazy.
There’s something oddly satisfying about watching other people’s toxic behavior and chaotic lives unfold on screen, all while being safely tucked away on my couch. Maybe it’s the relief that my own life isn’t that dramatic (thankfully), or maybe it’s just the addictive nature of these wild stories. Either way, I’m fully obsessed—and I’m not stopping anytime soon.
