SPOKANE — Sunday’s Windermere Marathon brought runners more than just a nice cardio session — many received support from loved ones cheering them on until they reached the finish line.
Shelle Goforth achieved her 50th half marathon completion Sunday. Her entire family gathered to celebrate the milestone, bringing signs and balloons to cheer her on throughout the race.
“Every mile… and all the time away was worth it,” Goforth said after completing the race.
This year’s official race charity partner was Spokane Community Oriented Policing Services, known as COPS.
