SPOKANE, Wash. — Organizers are reminding participants and residents about important traffic restrictions and safety measures ahead of Spokane’s annual Bloomsday event.
Vehicles parked along the event route face towing beginning at midnight Sunday morning. Residents should consult the course map and watch for red placards that mark tow-away zones.
Street closures along the course will begin at approximately 4 a.m. Sunday. For those not participating in Bloomsday, downtown travel will remain available on Ash, Maple, Division/Browne, and Hamilton Streets, which stay open throughout the day.
Event organizers have implemented strict bag policies for participant safety. Backpacks are prohibited at the event, and all bags brought by participants must be clear.
The Spokane Police Department will deploy officers throughout the event area to ensure safety.
Law enforcement officials ask anyone who observes suspicious activity to report it immediately to officers.
