Get ready to awkward-laugh until it hurts, because the Focker family is officially back!
Universal Pictures just dropped the trailer for Focker In-Law (the fourth chapter in the Meet the Parents saga), and it looks like things are getting just as uncomfortable as we’d hope. Ben Stiller and Robert De Niro are returning as Greg and Jack, and honestly, seeing them back together feels like a chaotic family reunion we actually want to attend.
But the real buzz? Ariana Grande is officially joining the family!
After her massive run with Wicked, Ari is trading the broomstick for some running shoes. She’s playing Olivia Jones, a triathlete who is apparently the lucky (or unlucky?) lady about to marry Greg’s son, Henry (played by Skyler Gisondo).
The best part of the trailer? In a total throwback to the original movie, Ariana’s character finds herself strapped into the infamous Focker family lie detector chair. It’s a total rite of passage at this point. And in a rare moment of approval, De Niro’s Jack actually seems impressed, telling her, “You clearly know your stuff.”
If she can survive a polygraph from Jack Byrnes, she can survive anything.
