SPOKANE, Wash. — The Spokane County Interstate Fair is making sure everyone can participate in the fun through its annual Sensory Day on Tuesday.
On September 10, from 11 a.m. – 5 p.m., the fair, along with Northwest Autism Center, The Isaac Foundation, The Arc of Spokane and Project ID will operate all carnival rides and games with no sounds or lights to create a calming and inclusive environment.
Guests will also be able to enjoy arts and crafts and meet-and-greets with local sports mascots.
New this year, there will also be a dedicated ‘Quiet Zone’ in the Plaza Courtyard, presented by The Arc of Spokane, so attendees can unwind and relax as needed.
“Anything can be made sensory supportive with just a little bit of planning and letting people know what to expect and when to expect it,” said Holly Goodman of The Isaac Foundation.
