BOISE, Idaho — The top-seeded Idaho Vandals advanced in the Big Sky Conference women’s basketball tournament with a 66-52 victory over Weber State.
Idaho controlled the game for the majority, using a strong second quarter to build separation from the Wildcats. The Vandals led 36-21 at halftime and continued to keep Weber State at arm’s length in the second half.
The Wildcats made a late push with a 19-12 advantage in the final quarter but Idaho’s defense helped secure the win. The V’s finished with 28 points in the paint.
The victory sent the regular-season champions into the semifinals, Idaho will face the winner of the quarterfinal matchup between Idaho State and Sacramento State in the Big Sky semifinals on Tuesday March 10 at 11 a.m.
