Has Jim Carrey been “disappeared” and replaced by a clone? That’s the question some corners of the internet are seriously asking after his appearance at the Cesar Awards in Paris last week.
Carrey was there to receive a lifetime achievement award and even delivered his full acceptance speech in French. Impressive? Yes. Suspicious? Apparently also yes, according to the internet.
It wasn’t that he was totally unrecognizable like social media loves to claim anytime someone looks slightly different. But he did look a little different, maybe like he’d had some work done.
Some reasonable people floated that possibility. Others, however, skipped right past cosmetic procedures and went straight to: he’s been replaced by an imposter… or a clone.
One person even posted, “I’m no conspiracy theorist but that’s not Jim Carrey.”
The internet remains undefeated.
