MOSES LAKE, Wash. — New body-camera video shows a man armed with a rifle refusing to follow commands when Grant County deputies shot and killed him.
Deputies with the sheriff’s office and Moses Lake police responded to a property in rural Moses Lake Monday evening for an open investigation.
When at the scene, deputies saw 33-year-old Aaron Ammann armed with a rifle.
Body-camera video shows Ammann hiding in a large plastic tank and refusing to follow commands. Ammann was heard yelling, “center mass,” at law enforcement before he exited still armed. The video then blurs Ammann before deputies shot him.
Five deputies shot and killed Ammann. They’ve been identified as Corporal Luis Jimenez with 11 years of law enforcement experience, Deputy Juan Niebla with five years, Deputy Gaven Allison with four years, Deputy David Borden with six years, and Deputy Jordan Crouch with two years.
The five men have been placed on routine paid administrative leave while the Central Basin Investigative Team investigates the shooting.
