NORTH IDAHO — The Idaho Panhandle Avalanche Center is reporting considerable avalanche danger through the weekend.
The center says human-caused avalanches are likely for the Selkirk Mountains, West Cabinet Mountains, and the Bitterroot Mountains. Natural avalanches are also possible.
According to the center, persistent weak layers of snow are buried two to three feet deep that are sensitive to the weight of humans or snowmachines.
