SPOKANE, Wash – News viewers in the Inland Northwest will be able to get more news from 4 News Now starting next month, as KXLY and KAYU Fox 28 announce a local news partnership.
Starting March 1, Good Morning Northwest expands to four hours each weekday morning, airing from 5-7 am on KXLY and from 7-9 on Fox 28.
In addition, the 4 News Now team will produce a newscast at 10 pm seven days a week.
This partnership represents a significant commitment of local news coverage for Spokane-area viewers, bringing high-quality journalism to two crucial time periods when audiences need reliable, local information most.
Viewers can expect the same trusted local team they already know and rely on, delivering the same commitment to breaking news and important local coverage that has made KXLY 4 News Now a trusted voice.
“We’re proud to bring KXLY 4 News Now to even more viewers across Spokane,” said Teddie Gibbon, VP and General Manager of KXLY-TV. “Producing these morning and 10 p.m. newscasts for KAYU allows us to extend our local journalism into two important day parts while maintaining the quality, voice and standards our community relies on. This is about serving more people with more local coverage in the time periods that are very convenient for them.”
“KAYU-TV FOX 28 is excited to improve our commitment to communities of the Inland Northwest,” said Gordy Cummings, General Manager and Director of Sales at KAYU-TV. “These new programs will give viewers a better product when they need it most. We’re excited to work together to grow local coverage and better serve our community.”
These newscasts are in addition to the local newscasts 4 News Now already provides, including Good Morning Northwest weekdays from 5-7 am, 4 News Now at 5 and 6 and 4 News Now Nightside at 11.
