SPOKANE VALLEY, Wash. — Fire crews contained a detached garage fire late Thursday evening in Spokane Valley, according to the Spokane Valley Fire Department.
A battalion chief said the garage was heavily engulfed when crews arrived.
Firefighters were able to contain the fire to the garage and prevent it from spreading to nearby buildings.
As of 11:46 p.m., crews had not entered the garage and continued suppression efforts using a waterline, officials said.
No injuries were reported to residents or firefighters. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
A neighbor told 4 News Now she woke to loud popping sounds and checked her security camera, where she saw small flames.
She said she woke her children and safely evacuated her home.
