MOSES LAKE, Wash. — The Moses Lake School District Board of Directors fired an employee Thursday evening following an investigation determined the coach and substitute teacher engaged in inappropriate relationships with at least three students.
The district received a report in May 2025 expressing concern about a potential inappropriate relationship between the employee and a student. Officials immediately placed the employee on administrative leave and launched a comprehensive investigation.
The district retained a third-party investigator and worked with the Moses Lake Police Department to review the matter. Following the investigation’s findings, the school board took formal action to discharge the employee.
The superintendent has submitted the findings to the Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction in accordance with state law.
“The District takes all concerns involving student safety seriously and follows established procedures to ensure that reports are investigated promptly, thoroughly, and fairly,” district officials stated.
The district encourages families and community members with concerns to contact Moses Lake School District officials directly.
