LIBERTY LAKE, Wash. — Liberty Launch Academy is planning a 280,000-square-foot field house that will double the private school’s capacity and transform it into a premier athletics program.
The school is securing final permits for the three-story facility, which will allow it to recruit elite athletes from around the world.
“We’re going to have kids that are already training in athletics right after lunch because academics are done in the morning,” said Luke Kjar, executive director. The school’s day is designed with academics in the morning and activities like sports in the afternoon.
The facility will include basketball and volleyball courts, wrestling mats, and fields for football, soccer and lacrosse. Construction begins next month.
“Right now we have a basketball team that’s nationally ranked that travels all over the country with kids from multiple countries around the world,” Kjar said. “We have a wrestling team and we’ve already had a state champion in the first year.”
The field house will serve the school during regular hours and be available for community use and tournaments afterward.
Once complete, enrollment could reach 800 students. The project is expected to finish by early 2027.
