DEER PARK, Wash. — UPDATED AT 1 P.M. — The Deer Park School District says bus routes will be running as usual this afternoon. It canceled some bus routes on Tuesday morning, saying this was a perfect storm of bus drivers out sick or on leave.
According to the district, Routes 1, 5, 10, 11, 14, 15, 18, 20, and 21 did not run this morning.
It sent a text message to families at 12:57 p.m. saying “Afternoon routes are running on a normal schedule. It is assumed that unless alternative plans have been made, students will ride the bus as usual. Thank you!”
District leaders say they’ve had one driver return to work and some others from outside the district step in to help. They expect tomorrow’s schedule to return to normal.
