COEUR D’ALENE, Idaho — High school students were sent home early Thursday afternoon because of a power outage at Coeur d’Alene High School.
According to a post on the district’s Facebook page, students were still able to ride the bus home with normal routes. Parents were also allowed to pick up students starting at noon.
The post encouraged students opting to drive themselves home to do so with, “extra care driving on the roads.”
The school district did not say what caused the power outage.
Avista is aware of the outage and says crews are currently working on it. Avista expects the power to be restored around 2 p.m.
