OLYMPIA, Wash – Washington workers making minimum wage will get a bump in pay in the new year, with minimum wage increasing to $17.13 an hour.
That’s up 2.8% $16.66 an hour.
That means once again, Washington is the state with the highest minimum wage in the country.
New York is the next highest at $17.00 an hour.
Cities in Washington can have higher minimum wages. For example, Seattle will raise minimum wage to $21.30 on January 1st.
Across the Washington state line in Idaho, workers will stay at $7.25 an hour. The state pays the federal minimum wage.
