NORTH IDAHO — An Avalanche Warning has been issued for the Idaho Panhandle from now until Tuesday afternoon.
The Idaho Panhandle Avalanche Center issued an Avalanche Warning from 4 p.m. Monday until 4 p.m. Tuesday for the Selkirk Mountains, West and East Cabinet Mountains and the Silver Valley-Bitterroot Mountains above 4,000 feet.
Very dangerous avalanche conditions will develop as heavy, wet snowfall turns to heavy rain and strong winds through Tuesday.
The Avalanche Center says large avalanches in these areas could easily trigger and some will release spontaneously. Avoid traveling in avalanche terrain during this time.
