SPOKANE VALLEY, Wash. — Detectives are investigating a shooting that injured one man during a house party in Spokane Valley early Saturday morning, according to the Spokane County Sheriff’s Office.
SCSO said at approximately 2:45 a.m., deputies responded to reports of gunfire at a residence near the intersection of North Park Road and East Cataldo Avenue. Minutes later, an adult male suffering from gunshot wounds was found in a vehicle near the intersection of 2nd Avenue and South Havana Road.
The man was transported to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries after deputies applied a tourniquet and Spokane Valley Fire provided medical assistance, authorities said.
The victim told investigators he attended the party with a friend but could not recall the party’s location, according to the sheriff’s office. He said they had just arrived when someone shot him.
Initial information indicates a party was underway when unknown individuals arrived, deputies said. An argument began in front of the residence, someone began firing a gun, and everyone scattered before deputies arrived.
Major Crimes detectives, assisted by the Spokane County Sheriff’s Forensics Unit, documented the scene and interviewed witnesses. However, most partygoers contacted said they only heard shots and did not see anyone with a gun, according to investigators.
The investigation remains active with no arrests made, the sheriff’s office said.
Anyone with information is urged to call Detective J. Hall at (509)-477-3481, reference #10137985.
