AIRWAY HEIGHTS, Wash. — The City of Airway Heights and Spokane Transit Authority celebrating the opening of 6th Avenue with a ribbon cutting ceremony Friday afternoon.
The ceremony was held at the intersection of 6th Avenue and Lundstrom Street. It marked the completion of a significant infrastructure improvement project designed to make the are more connected and accessible for residents.
This project included new roundabouts, sidewalks, ADA-compliant ramps, bus stops and more. A key element of the project included constructing a new stretch of road between Ketchum Drive and Craig Road, allowing STA to provide services to more areas of Airway Heights.
The City of Airway Heights says this project also allowed STA to add six new bus stops to the corridor and increase service on Route 65 to every 30 minutes on weekdays.
