SPOKANE COUNTY, Wash. — Deputies arrested a man who broke into a house and took off his pants in Spokane County on Wednesday, according to Spokane County Sheriff’s Office.
Around 1 p.m. on September 10, SCSO responded to a reported break-in at a home near Sands Road and Stoughton Road in south Spokane County.
A caller told deputies they had seen an unknown man, later identified as 62-year-old Billy Masten, entering their house on the video security system.
When deputies arrived, they found Masten in the home, wearing only a shirt. SCSO said he appeared to be confused and unsteady on his feet.
Deputies also found Masten’s car in the driveway with the door open.
Masten said he was inside the home with other people “smoking weed,” but deputies did not find anyone else in the house.
Masten told deputies he took the shirt he was wearing from the bedroom closet, where he had left his shorts, car keys and shoes.
He was taken to the hospital for a medical evaluation. Once medically cleared, he was booked into Spokane County Jail for burglary and theft.
