SPOKANE VALLEY, Wash. — Deputies arrested a man for breaking the glass door of a hotel and threatening staff with a knife early Monday morning, according to Spokane County Sheriff’s Office.
Around 1:30 a.m. on July 28, Spokane Valley deputies responded to a call about a person with a weapon at a hotel near Indiana Avenue and the Spokane Valley Mall.
When deputies arrived, a hotel employee told them a man came out of the woods behind the hotel and began banging on the glass door until it shattered.
The cost of the damage was estimated at around $1,000.
Deputies found the suspect, 41-year-old Joshua J. Arkinson standing on Indiana Avenue acting ‘erratically.’
Once arrested, they found two knives and a set of brass knuckles on him.
SCSO said Arkinson told deputies five girls were coming to kill him and he broke the door to get law enforcement’s attention. Deputies said Arkinson appeared to be seeing people who were not really there.
He was booked into Spokane County Jail for second-degree malicious mischief and possession of a dangerous weapon.
