COEUR D’ALENE, Idaho — Saturday was Kootenai County Lemonade Day, a day dedicated to teaching tomorrow’s entrepreneurs how to run a business by helping them set up their own lemonade stand.
Lemonade Day is a nonprofit that pays for kids to set up a stand while also teaching them the skills they need to run it.
While all of the money earned can go directly to the child running the stand, many of the stands in Coeur d’Alene donated a portion of the funds to a charity of their choice.
J.L. Lemonade’s charity of choice was the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
“Jaicey passed away about two Septembers ago and this is just one way that her family can honor her,” said Christie Peetoom, who was helping run the lemonade stand. “Jax, who is running the lemonade stand, was her little brother. We’re just really honored to be here today to keep her name going and then also give back to an organization that gave so much to her and the family.”
This is the second year in a row that J.L. Lemonade has been up and running and raising money for the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
