SPOKANE VALLEY, Wash. — Road work will close parts of Pines Road in Spokane Valley starting Sunday.
According to the city, Pines Road will be fully closed from north of Pinecroft Road to Trent Avenue from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday and Monday.
During the closure, crews will be working to install an underground support system that will work as the foundation of one of two new parallel rail bridges. The city says this work will allow for safer and more efficient travel.
A detour will be in place at Pines Road and Mansfield Avenue for drivers coming from the south. Detours onto University Road and Sullivan Road will be available for those traveling from the north.
Local access will be available between Mansfield Avenue and East Pinecroft Way.
