WENATCHEE, Wash. — Deputies arrested a man and a woman from a cleaning service for letting themselves into a client’s home, spending the night and stealing multiple items.
On July 2, Chelan County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a reported burglary at a home on Forest Ridge Road in Wenatchee.
Deputies said the homeowners were out of town and saw on remote security footage a woman from their home cleaning service and an unknown man enter their home around 1:30 a.m., which was outside of normal business hours.
The homeowners said they saw the man and woman going in and out of their house with items and wearing their clothing.
CCSO said the burglars spent 10 hours at the home and were still there when deputies arrived.
Deputies arrested 36-year-old Steven Leighton and 34-year-old Alexis Pipkin.
Pipkin initially lied to deputies and identified herself as her sister.
Leighton and Pipkin were booked into Chelan County Regional Justice Center for burglary and identity theft.
