OMAK, Wash. — Okanogan County Emergency Management says several roads around the Omak Airport are closed for a wildfire burning in the area.
The Greenacres Fire broke out Monday afternoon on Greenacres Road north of Bide-A-Wee. Levels 3 evacuations, meaning get out now, and Level 2, meaning get ready to leave at a moment’s notice, were issued for area around the airport.
Roads closed include Greenacres Road, Bide-A-Wee Road, Robinson Canyon Road, and Omak Airport Road.
Okanogan County Emergency Management says several home and outbuildings have already been lost in the fire which has burned an estimated 400-500 acres.
An evacuation center is set up at the Omak Seventh Day Adventist Church and a Red Cross shelter is at Omak High School.
