LINCOLN COUNTY, Wash. — Containment has grown on a wildfire burning north of Davenport that’s destroyed multiple homes and other buildings.
According to incident command, the Western Pines Fire is now 12% contained and burned about 9 square miles, or 5,800 acres.
Firefighters report 21 homes have been lost including houses, cabins, and RVs. 30 secondary structures including sheds, garages, and similar structures have also been destroyed.
Incident command says crews are making great progress and state resources will be leaving to return home or to other fires.
Level 3 evacuations, meaning get out now, for areas in the immediate vicinity of the fire are still in effect. The latest evacuation orders can be found on the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office’s Facebook page.
