STEVENS COUNTY, Wash. — UPDATED on July 13 at 12:15 p.m. – The wildfire burning 15 miles north of Kettle Falls has grown to over 6,500 acres on Sunday afternoon, according to fire officials.
Level 3 (GO NOW), Level 2 (GET SET) and Level 1 (BE READY) evacuations are still in place for the Hope Fire, which has burned nearly 9 square miles of land, just southwest of Northport.

As of Sunday afternoon, the fire is 0% contained, but crews are working to improve and strengthen the fire’s western and eastern lines. Crews are continuing mop-up efforts along the south line.
The Red Cross Evacuation Center at Kettle Falls Middle School (105 W. 11th Avenue) is now only open on an on-call basis. The Animal Evacuation Center at Northeast Washington Fairgrounds (317 W. Astor Avenue in Colville) remains open.

A wildfire continues to burn north of Kettle Falls in Stevens County and people are advised to leave the area.
The Hope Fire has burned more than 9 square miles, or about 6,300 acres 15 miles north of Kettle Falls. The fire is 0% contained.
On Saturday, firefighters are establishing direct and indirect fire lines.
Level 3 evacuations are still in effect. A map of the latest ones can be seen below.
