LINCOLN COUNTY, Wash. — Firefighters were able to stop a western advancement on the wildfire burning near Davenport Friday night.
According to incident command, the Western Pines Fire has burned about 5,300 acres just more than 9 square miles. It’s currently 0% contained.
The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office has issued evacuation orders for areas. Some people are told to get out now while others should be ready to leave at a moment’s notice.
On Saturday firefighters will work on establishing containment lines and mopping up spot fires that pop up.
The cause of the fire is under investigation, but it has been determined to be human-caused.
