SPOKANE, Wash. — If you’re looking for something fun to do with the kids this summer, why not show them what happens to the things we throw away?
The Spokane Waste to Energy Facility is hosting free public tours opportunities at the only waste to energy facility in Washington.
You will learn how garbage moves from the tipping floor to the claw and eventually to the boiler.
If you have ever wondered where your trash goes after it’s thrown in the bin, this is your chance!
The next free public tour is on Friday, July 18 at 10 a.m.
Visitors must wear close-toed shoes and dress for the weather. The tour is most appropriate for adults and children 6 years and older. All visitors must be able to wear head, eye and ear protection provided by the tour guide.
Reservation is required for this tour. You can register for this tour or any other upcoming tours by clicking here.
