STEVENS COUNTY, Wash. — UPDATED at 10 p.m. on July 10 – Level 1 (BE READY), Level 2 (GET SET) and Level 3 (GO NOW) evacuations are in place for the 3,500 acre wildfire burning near Kettle Falls and Northport on Thursday evening.
Stevens County Emergency Management released an interactive map Thursday night showing the evacuation zones. The map allows you to type in your address and search which, if any, evacuation zone your home is in.

UPDATED at 11 p.m. on July 9 – The wildfire burning near Kettle Falls and Northport has grown to 3,500 acres on Wednesday night.
3,500 acres is equal to about five-and-a-half square miles.
As of Wednesday afternoon, Level 3 evacuations and Level 2 evacuations are still in place for people living on Northport Flat Creek Road and the surrounding area. Stevens County Emergency Management says the Level 3 (GO NOW) evacuation zone has been expanded due to Wednesday’s weather forecast.

ORIGINAL – 12 p.m. on July 9
Firefighters are working to get containment on the 3,200-acre Hope Fire between Kettle Falls and Northport in Stevens County.
As of the last update, the fire was 0% contained.
The fire is mainly fueled by grass and shrubs. The fire remained active throughout the night.
A state mobilization request was approved to help with the firefighting efforts.
Level 3 evacuations and Level 2 evacuations are still in place for people living on Northport Flat Creek Road and the surrounding area. Stevens County Emergency Management says the Level 3 (GO NOW) evacuation zone has been expanded due to Wednesday’s weather forecast.
Level 1 evacuations are in place from Snag Cove to where Northport Flat Creek connects with Highway 25.
Northport Flat Creek Road is closed to allow firefighters to get access to the fire.
An evacuation center has been set up at Kettle Falls Middle School at 105 West 11th Avenue in Kettle Falls. An animal evacuation center has been set up at the Northeast Washington Fairgrounds at 317 West Astor Avenue in Colville.
Crews working the fire say the primary focus Wednesday is public and firefighters safety.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
